Dolly-Parton

Dolly Parton was born on the 19th of January 1946 at Locust Ridge Tenn. She lived with twelve other kids. The vivid imagination of her mother allowed her to escape the harsh realities of everyday life. Songs were written by her before she could write or read. She got her first guitar when she was 8 and started singing at an Knoxville Tenn radio station at the age of 11. Her first album was recorded within the same calendar year with Gold Band Records, a small label that was an independent. In high school She made her mark locally but dreamed about a larger stage. The year 1964 was the day following her graduation from high-school her family moved to Nashville. Her first charting hits for Monument Records included Dumb Blonde and Something Fishy both in 1967. The syndicated television show of Porter Wagoner required a new singer at around this point. Parton was a part of the Grand Ole Opry 1969 after signing in 1969 with RCA Records. The show was cancelled by Wagoner, but in 1974, because her solo albums like Joshua Coat Of Many Colors and Jolene beat out their collaborative albums. Parton's hit song, I'll Never Be Loved by You (for Wagoner), hit the number. #1 spot following their separated. #1 for the first time in 1974.
