Rubi Rose Benton was born on October 2 1997 in Lexington, Kentucky, where she was also raised by Nardos Ghebrelul her mother who was an Eritrean dentist from the country of immigrants who was born in Ethiopia and John Benton, her father who is an attorney of Japanese, African American and European descent. One of her fathers was adopted. Scarlette is an older sibling and Coral is a younger one. (2) She was baptized into Orthodox Christianity when she was a young girl. (better source required) She lived for one year in Geneva. In her junior year of highschool she relocated to Atlanta, Georgia. She attended Brookwood High School in Snellville, Georgia and ran track.
